Find care / Compare ways to get care
Office visit or remote care?
Compare what happens during the visit, how the bill works and who handles later questions. Ask each service the same questions.
Ask how the assessment works
A prescription written after online care had to meet the same care standard as one written after an office visit, under Colorado board guidance checked on September 26, 2026.
The board guidance did not accept prescribing solely from a fixed online form.
Ask how you can explain your goals and ask your own questions. Ask what happens if the assessment calls for an examination or tests.
Compare the questions side by side
Read both care routes for each part of the conversation.
All parts are shown.
During the visit
In an office
Ask who will assess you and where any examination will happen. Ask which records to bring.
Through telehealth
Ask whether the exchange is live or reviewed later. Ask how the clinician can follow up and how you can ask questions.
When the bill arrives
In an office
Ask for visit, medicine and test charges separately. Ask whether later visits are priced separately.
Through telehealth
Ask whether payment is per visit or through a recurring membership. Ask what is owed if no medicine is prescribed.
After the visit
In an office
Ask who handles later questions and whether another visit is needed. Ask how that visit is charged.
Through telehealth
Ask how you can contact the clinician once the visit is over. Ask where an in-person review would happen if needed.
Check Colorado permission for either route
Health professionals in another state could apply for Colorado permission to provide remote care only, if they met the rules (September 26, 2026).
Permission for remote visits alone did not allow office care in Colorado. For an office visit, the clinician needed the Colorado licence, certification or registration required for that job.
Get the clinician's full name and credential type. Use the state record before comparing the practical details.
